IN 1985 MOUNTAIN BIKING WAS IN ITS INFANCY AND AT THE HEART WAS YETI, PRODUCING NO FRILLS BIKES FOR CORE RIDERS.
THE MODERN ERA BROUGHT THE FALL OF DH BIKES AND THE RISE OF ENDURO MACHINES THAT COME TO DOMINATE THE TRAILS AND HALLWAYS AT YETI.
Our factory in Golden, Colorado was the birthplace of all concepts and designs that bear our name. It was our dream factory. Prototypes and race bikes were burned and tested there, and our flexible manufacturing process allowed us to churn out prototypes one day and race them the next. This allowed for countless iterations as we pushed towards creating a frame that is both beautiful and functional.
Making bikes that ride this great takes time. Our design team debate concepts for months, sometimes even years, before we make our first prototype. These designs can be an evolution of an existing model or a totally new concept. The latter was the genesis for the Switch Infinity mechanism that revolutionized our bike lineup and leads the industry in suspension design today.
OVER THE YEARS THROUGH THE VARIOUS EVOLUTIONS OF YETI CYCLES, ONE THING REMAINS CONSTANT— RACING. AND NOT JUST RACING, BUT WINNING. GOING FASTER IS WHAT DRIVES US AT YETI. IT IS REFLECTED IN THE BIKES WE MAKE.
