Floating Axle
Floating axles may look like other axles, but in fact they offer a distinct performance advantage thanks to their unique ability to match the exact width of the fork's wheel mounting surface exactly to the front hub's flange distance, creating perfect chassis alignment and eliminating unwanted friction between upper and lower fork legs. Floating axles provide much smoother suspension travel throughout the fork's entire range of motion, greatly improving responsiveness and overall ride quality.
Lower Leg Bypass Channel
When a fork is compressed, the air volume in the lower leg decreases, increasing air pressure. The more the fork is compressed, the more the pressure increases. This effect can have the unintended consequence of preventing one from being able to travel fully. The channels in the lower legs help alleviate this problem by dramatically increasing the air volume in the lower legs, thereby reducing the amount of inadvertent pressure build-up.
Bleeders
The lower leg bleeders make it possible to equalize the atmospheric pressure with a simple push of a button. Pressure build-up in the lower legs dramatically reduces fork performance, preventing full travel and reducing sensitivity and responsiveness on small bumps.
GRIP2
The GRIP2 damper is a benchmark for unmatched ride quality and ultra-precise adjustability. GRIP2 incorporates the patented Variable Valve Control (VVC) technology that allows for external fine-tuning of suspension performance. With GRIP2, you can achieve with a simple hand grip what usually requires time-consuming and complicated work to completely disassemble and reassemble the fork.
Float Evol
EVOL technology increases the negative air spring volume, optimizing sensitivity to small bumps. EVOL's linear spring curve provides a softness at the top, extra support in the middle of the stroke and a more adjustable development at the bottom.
The benefits of the EVOL are further enhanced by the new lower leg channels and vents, both of which work to reduce air pressure in the lower leg, allowing the EVOL air spring to operate freely without accidental interference.
Elliptical Steering The
38's elliptical steerer tube is one of many ways to further optimize stiffness to weight, placing more material where it's needed and eliminating every ounce of it where it's not.
